 Welcome to Kern Reading Association's website!

    It is my honor to serve as President of the Kern Reading Association (KRA) for the 2007-2008 year!
    To give a little background information about Kern Reading Association:

  • Kern Reading Association has been promoting literacy in Kern County for over 30 years!
  • As an affiliate of the International Reading Association, Kern Reading Association has been an Honor Council member for 20 years!
  • Kern Reading Association is a volunteer organization, from the Executive Board to the workers at the various events held throughout the year.
  • Kern Reading Association depends upon memberships to help support its main goal- promoting literacy in Kern County.

    Did you know that your $30 membership fee not only includes a one-year membership to KRA but also a one-year membership to the California Reading Association? 
    One of the benefits of membership is a subscription to the California Reader, a quarterly magazine that contains articles that support reading instruction and reading research studies.  It is a wonderful professional resource!

    Please consider joining Kern Reading Association.  There is a membership form you may download.  Also, check out the various activities described within this website.  
    Join us for opportunities for professional collaboration and join us in promoting literacy in Kern County!
