Dear Friends,
Can you believe it! 2023! And it is March already! Hard to believe that we are entering the final stretch of this school year. I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is enjoying this much needed rain.
I am excited to announce that we have our annual Book Talk Tea on Thursday, April 27, 2023. The theme is "A Literary Experience," and it will be held at the Larry E. Reider Center at 20th & K Streets in Room 204 as in previous years. This is an event that everyone enjoys! Russo's Books will again be there to sell books that are shared, and Too Fats will provide refreshments. There will also be prizes, an oral language presentation, and a great time for making new friends. You will not want to miss this event. Please visit our website for further information and the registration form. www.kernreadingassociation.org.
In addition, this year we are collection new or gently used books, ages toddler to adult, to assist Teresa Twisselman with the Little Laundromat Library project that she began in September 2020. She sets up crates in local laundromats for people to take books for home reading and has been stocking 5 laundromats and two book boxes. She generally uses 75-90 books every week. If you would like to contribute to this project, please bring a new or gently used book (or books) to the tea with you.
Sincerely,
Brenda Russell
